The cataloging project at the Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum is on hold, as the fossil collection is moving . . . again. Late in December, the school began renovating the Green Center, which was built in the early '70s. Everything in the Green Center needs to be moved elsewhere on campus and substitute classrooms found. This has put a premium on space throughout the campus. The fossil collection will be put in temporary storage while plans are made for a permanent location for the collection.

At last month's workday, the fossils, books, computers, and supplies were packed for the move. A number of fossil boxes were marked, so they can be stored at the Geology Museum where we can access them. This will allow us to resume the cataloguing project in the next few months. We will contact all of the volunteers when we can resume our monthly workdays.
