The cataloguing project at the Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum
The Museum has begun the design of permanent, high-density storage for all the minerals and fossils in the collection. This will allow the collection to be stored in one place on campus, with access by researchers in the future.

If you would like to help with cataloguing the extensive fossil collection of the Colorado School of Mines Geology Museum, new volunteers are welcome to join us. Each monthly workday is like a fossil field trip, as we open boxes of fossils that have not seen daylight for over 15 years. It is a great way to increase your knowledge of invertebrate and plant fossils. Please contact Dennis Gertenbach at gertenbach@comcast.net or Shellie Luallin at shellieluallin@comcast.net for more information about the project.
